The state has released its state-qualifying assignments for high school boys and girls.
In Class 3A, Washington has been assigned to Mt. Pleasant with Davenport Assumption, Centerville, Fairfield, Ft. Madison, Keokuk and West Burlington Notre Dame.
In Class 2A, Mid-Prairie will compete at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont with Albia, Central Lee, Chariton, Danville, Davis County, Mediapolis, PCM, Pella Christian, Van Buren and Williamsburg.
The Golden Hawks were at EBF last year and qualified enough to win a state title.
“I really like the EBF District meet,” Mid-Prairie girls coach Chris Tyler said. “We’ve been going there for the last four or five years in a row now and it has always been a great outing for us down there. It seems to be a fast track. It is a well-run meet and a good mix of competition.”
Also in 2A, Columbus will run at Tipton with Camanche, Durant, Louisa-Muscatine, North cedar, Northeast Goose lake, Iowa City regina, Wapello, West Branch, West Liberty and Wilton.
In 1A, WACO and Keota will be at Sigourney with BGM, Cardinal, English Valleys, HLV, Lynville-Sully, Montezuma, New London, North Mahaska, Tri-County and Winfield-Mt. Union.
Also in 1A are Highland and Iowa Mennonite School which will be at Central City with Alburnett, Calamus-Wheatland, East Buchanan, Easton Valley, Lisbon, Lone Tree, Maquoketa Valley, Bellvue Marquette, Midland, Prince of Peace Prep and Springville.
