Wellman — Five Golden Hawks scored in double figures Monday in a 71-55 River Valley Conference win over Wilton.
Cale Robertson, Tom Butters, Ethan Trimpe, Chaz Patterson and Dominic Pickard all scored at least 10 points. Brad Tornow fed his Mid-Prairie teammates with six assists.
Mid-Prairie led 20-19 after the first quarter but could get no separation in the second quarter and entered halftime with a 33-32 lead.
The Golden Hawks used an 18-9 edge in the third quarter to create a 10-point advantage of 51-41 to start the final stanza.
A 20-14 fourth period clinched the game for the Golden Hawks.
Butters corralled 15 rebounds to go with his 10 points. Pickard hit on 3 of 4 3-pointers to score a team-high 18 points. Trimpe put up 12 points and took down seven rebounds. Robertson had three steals and 10 points. Patterson came off the bench to produce 12 points and seven boards.
Mid-Prairie has a 10-9 overall record, 8-9 in the RVC and plays at Monticello Thursday.
