Pat Remington, of Brighton, with friend Nita, of Rubio, traveled to Oskaloosa on Oct. 14. They met Pat’s grandson Cody and MacKenzie at Tasos’.
Providing the evening meal of Oct. 14 at the home of Winifred Fritz were her children, Tony and Lynn Fritz, of Brighton; and Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth, of Fairfield.
Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met Oct. 16 at the home of Shirley Schooley. Cathy Rich was her co-hostess. Eleven members answered roll call.
Shirley gave the program on Peggy Whitson, born in Mt. Ayr, Iowa. Peggy broke the record for most time spent in space as an astronaut. She’s spent 665 days in space. She’s walked in space 60 hours, 21 minutes, which is a world record. At age 55, she was the oldest woman to go on a space flight. Peggy was the first nonmilitary person to hold the position of chief astronaut.
Refreshments were served. Their next meeting will be held Nov. 6 at the home of Lynn Wright. Karen Schafer will be the co-hostess.
