Holly Vittetoe, daughter of Jerry and Deb Vittetoe of Washington, Iowa, and Alex Schmitz, son of Bob and Jenny Schmitz of Fairbank, Iowa, were married Sept. 15, 2018, at St. James Catholic Church in Washington. The Rev. Bernie Weir officiated at the 2:30 p.m. double ring ceremony.
Maid of Honor was Madeline Hora and bridesmaids were Nicole Meyer, Kaylee Vogel, Courtney Schmitz, Lauren Sendelbach, and Allison Bastian. Personal attendants were Katee Vittetoe and Rebecca Vittetoe. Best man was Ben Schmitz and groomsmen were Cody Kleitsch, Jeremy Vittetoe, Jordan Vittetoe, Nathan Gudenkauf, and Mitch Ryan. Ushers were Joe Ver Steegh, Drake Frideres, Nate Wright, and Mick Rochford. Flower girls were Caroline Vittetoe -- niece of the bride -- and Anna Rochford -- cousin of the groom. Ring bearers were Will Vittetoe and Grant Vittetoe, both nephews of the bride. Guest book attendants were Katee Vittetoe and Rebecca Vittetoe. Music was provided by Mike Jewell -- organist and vocalist -- and Jennifer and Ayva Bohr -- vocalists.
A reception followed at Knights of Columbus Hall in Washington with Todd and Sue Nelson and John and Tess Schmitz as hosts.
Special guests were grandparents Howard and Shirley Bohr of Wellman, Iowa, and Ron and Deb Schmitz of Sumner, Iowa, and Bill and Rhonda Rochford of Sumner, Iowa.
The bride graduated from Washington High School in 2014 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag Business in 2017 from Iowa State University. She is employed by BankIowa in Waterloo. The groom graduated from Wapsie Valley High School in 2014 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag Business in 2017 from Iowa State University. He is employed at Target Distribution in Cedar Falls.
The couple resides in Fairbank, Iowa.
