Richard “Dick” Paul of Washington will celebrate his 90th birthday on Sunday, Feb. 10.
He will be celebrating the event with an open house on that day from 2 — 4 p.m. at the United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall. The event will be hosted by Craig Paul, Sharon Kleinau, and Deb Brinkman.
Paul was born on Feb. 10, 1929 in Washington where he owned and operated Paul’s Shoes for 37 years from 1960 to 1997. Following that he worked in the meat department at the local Fareway from 1997 — 2016. Currently, he drives for Reliant Drug Company delivering pharmaceuticals.
He married MaryAnn (Bauer) Paul on July 7, 1951. MaryAnn preceded Richard in death on March 2003.
His children are Sharon (Rich) Kleinau of Washington; Deb (Ivan) Brinkman of Cedar Rapids; John (Mary) Doe of Springfield, Ill; Bruce (MaryKay) Paul of Fort Dodge; Craig (Leslie) Paul of Washington; and Steve Paul who is recently deceased but is survived by his wife Beth who lives in Washington.
