Virginia Louise "Ginny" Henderson, 85, of Keota, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018, in Iowa City.
Virginia was born July 17, 1932, near Libertyville, to John and Marie (Harms) Clarridge and graduated from Fairfield High School. On July 23, 1950, she married James A. Henderson. The couple made their home in Keota where Ginny worked in the laundry department at Maplewood Manor. She was active in Scouts and Brownies and was an avid gardener, who cultivated many memories with her grandchildren.
Survivors include six children: Doug (Joanie) Henderson of Witter, Ark., Cindy (Russ) Keeler of North Liberty, Judy (Steve) Weber of Sigourney, Joyce (Steven) Peiffer-Smith of Washington, Sally Henderson of North Liberty and John (Barb) Henderson of Keota; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Don Clarridge of Lancaster, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim in 2006; grandson, Jason Weber; son-in-law, Bob Peiffer; and brother, John Clarridge.
Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation is from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
