Two utility lines knocked down Thursday

Two separate incidents involving utility lines being struck were reported Thursday in Washington, according to the Washington County call log.

At 8:26 a.m. a caller at West Third Street and North B Avenue reported striking a line with a piece of equipment he was pulling. Officers responded for traffic control on the south side of Fareway. The line down was a Windstream line and Windstream responded. At 12:06 p.m. a subject hit a pole in the parking lot of the Kewash Trail at 1109 West Fifth Street. The pole had snapped and there were lines down. No injuries were reported. Officers responded. Moore?s responded and towed the vehicle. Alliant Energy was notified. Damage was over $1,500 and a state accident report will be filed. No citation was issued.
