The King visits Washington

The King of Rock ?n? Roll visited the clients at WCDC Tuesday morning in Washington Area Performing Arts and Event Center. Roger Goudschaal of Tripoli played Elvis Presley during the event. Goudschaal retired from teaching in 2004 and coaching football. He became an Elvis fan as a teenager and has loved his music ever since. Goudschaal first impersonated Elvis with a live band on a dare in 1973 and has been performing Elvis with his own ?Memphis Mafia? in variety shows, Christmas parties, high school reunions, etc., ever since. He particularly enjoys the reaction from fans who still love ?The King? and his music.

Goudschaal competed in the Springfield, Ili., ?Tribute To The King? competition of Elvis tribute artists in 2007, 2008, and 2012, making the finals finishing fourth in 2007. One of his bodyguards is fond of saying, ?Roger ?s been doing Elvis longer than Elvis was Elvis.?
