Danyelek Figueroa, 23, of West Liberty, was arrested Tuesday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a Johnson County warrant for domestic abuse assault impeding air or blood flow causing bodily injury.

Lynn Ray Appleget, 68, of Sigourney, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington on a charge of public intoxication, first offense.

Aaron Michael Jaspering, 34, of Washington, was arrested Tuesday night in the 500 block of South Third Avenue in Washington on a warrant for domestic abuse assault, first offense.

Nahida Amira Brookhart, 43, of Wellman, was arrested Tuesday night in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington on a charge of fifth-degree theft.

Traffic accident

A caller Tuesday morning reported a two- or three-vehicle accident with no injuries, at Hickory Avenue and Highway 22 in Wellman, in the construction area. The caller requested a deputy. Three operators were involved.

Damages amounted to more than $1,500. One vehicle was towed. No citations were issued.

A caller Tuesday morning at B Avenue and Fourth Street in Kalona reported being involved in an accident.

There were no injuries, and the roadway was not blocked.

An officer responded. A state accident report was filed. Carol Whiteis, of Iowa City, was issued a citation for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.

Traffic stop serious

An officer reported being out with a silver Mustang, Tuesday night in the 1100 block of South Avenue B in Washington.

The officer transported two juveniles to the police department. Both juveniles were released to their guardians.

Both juveniles will be charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age.

Disabled vehicles

A caller on Tuesday night reported a trailer with wood on the side of the roadway in the 2100 block of 250th Street in Washington. The trailer was close to the roadway and hard to see. An officer responded. A tire was 1 feet from the roadway. There were no license plates.

Animal complaint

A caller Tuesday morning in the 1000 block of East Main Street in Washington reported that two pitbulls ran after her. She confronted the owner, and they told her to stay off their street. An officer responded and issued a citation to Kairon Patrick McClenan, of Washington, for allowing dogs to run at large.

Dispatch reported that a citizen reported a brownish-red pitbull running loose around Brighton, Tuesday morning at West Washington Street and North Mechanic Street in Brighton. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate the dog.

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 600 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman reported that two pitbulls were loose in the street. One was brown and one was white. Both of them had collars on. An officer responded. The dogs were back on their property and secured upon a deputy?s arrival. The officer did speak with the dog owner.

Barking dog

A caller early Wednesday morning in the 500 block of West Washington Street in Washington reported that a dog in the neighborhood had been barking for the past hour and a half. An officer located the dog and spoke with the owner, who was going to bring the dog in for the night.

Welfare check

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington requested a welfare check on a subject sitting in the ditch. An officer checked on the subject, and he was fine, and was just walking eastbound on Highway 92.

All other theft

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 700 block of South Avenue B in Washington reported missing a Snap-on cordless impact tool from his truck while parked in front of his residence. The item was worth $600. An officer spoke with the caller. Documentation was made.
