Arrests


William John Goodwin, 39, of Washington, was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 800 block of South Third Avenue in Washington on a charge of domestic abuse assault, a Class D felony.


Robyn Rene Stewart, 54, of Washington, was arrested Friday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington on a charge of fifth-degree theft.


 


Traffic other


A caller Thursday morning at Vine Avenue and 250th Street in Ainsworth reported a red truck with no license plates, in the middle of the intersection. A male subject was inside the vehicle. An officer spoke with the driver, who was having vehicle problems. The subject had a tow en route.


A caller Thursday morning at South Avenue B and West Tyler Street in Washington reported that a white Ford truck was parked in a no-parking area and blocking part of the traffic. An officer responded and was unable to make contact with the registered owner. A citation was issued.


A caller Thursday afternoon in the 100 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported two vehicles in the parking lot that had not been moved.  One vehicle was going to be picked up by an auto repair company and the other would be taken care of by the property owner.


 


Disabled vehicles


An officer reported being out with an unoccupied disabled vehicle, Friday morning at Highway 218 and the Highway 92 ramp in Ainsworth. The vehicle was added to the system.


 


Animal complaint


A caller Thursday morning in the 700 block of South Ninth Avenue in Washington requested an officer?s assistance with removing a bat from the residence. An officer responded and removed the bat.


A caller Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of East Seventh Street in Washington reported that a male German shepherd puppy had been tied out all week with no water, food or shade. An officer responded. The dog had water, food and shade. The owner was out with it, and it went out with him whenever he went outside. Otherwise, it was an indoor dog.


A caller Thursday night in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington reported there was a bat in her living room. An officer responded and removed the bat.


A caller early Friday morning in the 400 block of South Third Avenue in Washington reported that there was a bat in her bedroom. An officer responded and removed the bat.


 


Assault


A caller Thursday morning in the 600 block of West Second Street in Washington reported that her son was assaulted that morning at the bus stop by a subject who attended the middle school. An officer responded. A report will be filed. The officer spoke with the county attorney. Charges are pending.


 


Drug, narcotics violation


An officer reported a narcotics violation, Thursday afternoon in the 900 block of South Second Avenue in Washington. A report will be filed. Charges are pending DCI Lab results.


 


Intimidation/harassment


A caller Thursday night in the 300 block of North Avenue B in Washington reported being harassed and threatened by a male subject. An officer responded and spoke with both subjects, and advised them to leave each other alone.


 


Suspicious activity


A caller Thursday afternoon at West Van Buren Street and South Avenue D in Washington reported a suspicious male sitting in a red jeep in the area. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate the subject.


A caller Thursday night in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported suspicious activity. An officer responded. Everything was fine at the residence.


A caller Thursday night in the 500 block of East Madison Street in Brighton reported hearing a loud noise on the other side of his garage. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate anything.


 


Trespass


A caller Thursday morning in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street in Brighton reported that a subject and her boyfriend came over the previous night and began yelling at her. She asked them to leave the property, and they refused. The caller requested that a deputy speak with them. An officer spoke with the caller. Documentation was made. The caller believed this was retaliation from an incident that occurred on Wednesday night.


 


Vandalism


A caller Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of East Third Street in Washington reported that someone tried to get into her garage. An officer responded. It appeared that it may have been weather-related.


 


Welfare check


A caller Thursday morning in the 300 block of A Avenue in Kalona requested a welfare check on a subject who had not shown up for work in Keokuk County. An officer responded. The subject was fine and made contact with her employer.


 


All other theft


A caller Thursday afternoon in the 500 block of North Avenue D in Washington reported that her wallet was taken from an unlocked vehicle sometime Wednesday afternoon. Items contained were her out-of-state driver?s license (Texas), Social Security card, military identification and two debit cards. The wallet was described as a COACH Wristlet with cheetah print. An officer was advised for documentation purposes.


 


All other offenses


A caller Thursday afternoon in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington reported that a female had made her way into the residence and would not leave. An officer responded. The female subject was gone before the officer arrived.
