The Washington County Engineer?s Office reported Thursday that a section of County Road G36 will be closed for a patching and grading project beginning Friday, April 27 and being scheduled to end on June 29.
According to a news release, the work will require the closure of G36 from Highways 1
and 92 east to the Riverside Road intersection. The contractor doing the work is Cedar Falls Construction of Cedar Falls. The company will be doing a similar project on Coppock Road from Coppock north to the intersection with Wayland Road.
The public is reminded to use the posted detour and use caution while traveling the detour route. Additionally, drivers should allow additional time to reach their destinations as a result of traveling through Washington. The work for the project involves concrete patching and grading of the road surface, all being done to increase the longevity of the pavement and improve the ride.
Questions on the project can be directed to the Washington County Engineer?s Office at (319) 653-7731.
