Palmer receives 4-H award

AMES -- Fifty Iowa 4-H members will receive 2018 state 4-H project awards. They are recognized as youth who have exhibited exceptional leadership, communication and civic engagement within their project area.


Washington County 4-H?er Katie Palmer has received an award for child development. She is the daughter of John and Becky Palmer.


As a nine-year 4-H member, she has participated in the sheep, bucket bottle calf, pet, clothing, photography, food and nutrition, child development, leadership, citizenship, personal development, visual arts and communication project areas. She graduated at the end of May from Mid-Prairie High School. She has served as the president, secretary, treasurer, reporter and photographer of the Lime Creek Limelights 4-H club and is also a member of the Washington 4-H County Council.


4-H projects give members the opportunity to strengthen their skills and knowledge in a wide variety of areas. This recognition is a great honor and testament to the dedication these young people.
