Nancy McConnell (Cooper) Wright, 68, of Tiffin passed away on April 12, 2018 at her home, surrounded by those who loved her.


A Celebration of Life event will take place on Friday, April 27, 2018 at The Kirkwood Room, 515 Kirkwood Avenue, Iowa City, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Iowa City. On-line condolences may be left to the family at www.lensingfuneral.com.


Nancy McConnell Wright was born in Washington, Iowa to W.H. (Bill) McConnell and Rebecca (Becky) McConnell on November 4, 1949. She loved growing up on the family farm and being with all the animals. She had fond memories of attending Living Lake Country School. When she was in junior high, her family moved to Iowa City, where Nancy graduated from City High School in 1967. She had a son, Ryan Cooper, from her first marriage. She owned and operated Nancy's Dog Grooming Service and Nancy's Office Coffee Service in Iowa City.


On November 19, 1988 Nancy and Mike Wright were married. They moved to Longmont, Colo. in 1998, where Nancy and Mike loved hiking in the mountains, riding bikes and taking in the beautiful scenery. They moved back to Iowa in 2016 due to Nancy's health issues.


Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Mike Wright of Tiffin; son, Ryan (Lori) Cooper of Elst, Netherlands; step-daughter, Jamie (Scott) Sheriff of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren: Jaden and Avery Cooper and William Sheriff; siblings, Mark (Brenda) McConnell of Iowa City, Joe (Marde) McConnell of Washington, Iowa, and Susie McConnell of Coralville; brother-in-law, John (Paula) Wright of Fargo, N.D.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.


Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Becky McConnell.
