Ag Day, the traditional opening of the Washington Summer Classic, saw some additional but appropriate guests Thursday afternoon as three cows were reported running on East Washington Street.
At 10:19 a.m. Thursday, May 31, a caller reported to the Washington County Communications Center that three cows had fallen out of a trailer at 1409 E. Washington St. and were in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle transporting the cows had continued westbound on East Washington Street. Officers responded. Washington Police Lt. Ron See reported the cows were milk cows and were easy to get under control.
A Washington County Sheriff?s deputy located the vehicle the cows had fallen out of and the owner responded and picked up the cattle.
