She was born March 21, 1929 at home near East Pleasant Plain to Frank A. and Nettie J. Mosinski Chuck. Teresa graduated from Brighton High School in 1946. She enjoyed school and was proud of winning spelling bees. Teresa worked as a legal secretary until she married Francis J. Mottet on January 28, 1948 at St. Joseph Church in East Pleasant Plain. She lived all of her married life on the farm west of Pleasant Plain.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield. She was active in her church where she taught RCIA for 17 years. Christian clowning was another way she shared her faith. For many years she also made a quilt for the Polishville Annual Raffle. Teresa made many banners through the years for her church, for other churches, for weddings and funerals and other occasions including universities, peace groups and political campaigns.

Other interests were her membership with the National Farmers Organization, her adventures traveling the world with Francis, and writing. She wrote many letters to the editor, poems, and articles. Many of these were published in various magazines and newspapers. Her biggest writing accomplishment was a book of her life story.

She is survived by two daughters: Joann Shepard (Richard) of Indianola, Jean Briggs (Terry) of Rochester, Minn.; and two sons: Ray Mottet (Peggy) of Fairfield and Ken Mottet (Mary) of Berwyn, Ill. Also surviving are one sister, Kathryn Dickinson (Ralph) of Brighton; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
