Man arrested after hitting electric pole

A Wayland man was charged with driving under the influence after an officer reported being out late Saturday night with a vehicle that had hit an electrical pole.

According to the Washington County call log, Jerome Evans Farrier, 22, of Wayland, was arrested at 11:44 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Road and 220th Street for OWI first offense, public intoxication and failure to maintain control. The report said the vehicle struck the electrical pole just north of 220th on Orange Avenue. Over $1,500 damage was reported to the vehicle. Farrier declined medical attention. The vehicle was towed.
