Kirkwood celebrates Christmas with its students and faculty

As students at the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center prepare for their winter break, they get the chance to celebrate the holidays with the faculty and staff at the community college.

A tree displayed in the lower lobby of the school is symbolic of the holiday greetings that the school wishes to students and visitors. Director Tera Pickens said the tree had been a mainstay of the holiday season since the building opened in 2014 and is annually put up by office staff.

?Its a nice festive way to celebrate the holiday season,? Pickens said. ?It is a high traffic student area so they can hang out and socialize with the holiday tree.?

She said the fall semester ended Dec. 11, which gave students a chance to observe the holidays before going on break.

Classes will resume Jan. 16.

Kirkwood has also held some special holiday classes such as cookie decoration.
