Keota man arrested for probation violation

KEOTA ? Jon Michael Holeton, 35, of Keota, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at 609 E. Broadway St. on a Washington County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm as a felon, and possession of a controlled substance marijuana third offense. Bond has been set at $10,000.

According to the Washington County call log, the arrest occurred while an officer was out with a vehicle at a local business in Keota.

Holeton was originally arrested in October 2016. According to the news release, at about 9:35 p.m. on Oct. 3, the Washington Police Department received a report of an incident in the City of Washington where a subject was assaulted and the suspect was armed with a firearm. The police call log for that date and time said the incident was reported at 300 E. Main Street in Washington. A search was conducted of the area that night and the suspect was not located. A search warrant was executed on the building and a firearm was recovered. Police later received information the suspect was at a residence in Brighton. A search of the residence resulted in the arrest of Holeton.
