Harp Players to perform comedy for charity

Harp Players Theatre Group profits from the March comedy Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, the newest Harp Players/Washington Community Theater production, will be donated to the Washington County Domestic Violence Coalition. The WCDVC provides free goods and services to victims/survivors of domestic violence, such as rent and utility assistance, prescription assistance, eyeglasses, phone cards, gas cards, car repairs, groceries, furniture and other household items. They also provide free emergency stays, whenever necessary, at local hotels. They step in to help when people have been displaced in any way because of a domestic violence situation.

The Harp Players is a group of local performers who have been putting on comedies and donating their profits to local charities since 1999.

Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, written by Ken Ludwig and directed by Greg Wiley, follows the infamous Holmes and Watson as they investigate a family curse that threatens the life of the newest heir to the Baskerville fortune. Five actors portray more than 40 characters in the murderously funny adventure. In the cast are Ed Colby, Tom Dawson, Mike Tschantz, Greg Wiley, and Lori Wiley.

Performances are March 16, 17, 23, and 24 at the Washington Community Center.
