On the summer solstice, Thursday, June 21 Halcyon House encouraged team members and residents to keep the Nusteps moving all day long and to wear purple!
The color purple was prominent, as households were decorated with beautiful purple flower arrangements and staff and residents wore purple.
In the afternoon the household residents were treated to powdered sugar donuts and milk served on purple plates. It was a fun treat for everyone!
Halcyon House hosted a daytrip, Wednesday, June 27th to Cantril, Iowa.
Izy Flander, Rosie Stelton, Betty Quinn, Gladys Ferguson, Bea Johnson, Fran Victor, Clyde Pearce, Carol Madsen, Mary Lou Graves, Mary Meeks, Sybil Thornton, Dolores Wood and Marcella Reed enjoyed shopping at the Dutchmen?s Store, dining at the Bonaparte Retreat Restaurant and a scenic drive through Bentonsport and Keosauqua State Park.
On the way home, some of the residents enjoyed an ice cream treat at the Sweet Spot in Fairfield.
The Halcyon House Household residents enjoyed a delicious Orange Julius prepared and served by the members and leaders of the Faith Baptist Church Summer Serve program on Wednesday, June 27.
The Summer Serve volunteers served the residents with lots of energy and smiles!
