The weekly church services were provided by Pastor Jason Collier representing the Ainsworth and Crawfordsville churches. The sermon was titled ?Living Questionable Lives.? Scripture from Colossians 4:2-6 and 1 Peter 3:15-16. Linda McNiel served as pianist. Christina Collier was a special guest.
Halcyon House Wellness Department hosted fitness assessments for the residents and community members. The fitness assessments include strength, power and agility, endurance and flexibility testing. Following the testing participants receive a private consultation to discuss the results of their tests. The Wellness team uses the results to help set physical goals and exercise class placement for the wellness members. The Wellness Department would like to thank Jane Leyden, Dolores Wood, Glenys Elwood, Gladys Ferguson, Carol Madsen, Nancy Patterson, Megan Lille, Paige Hyde and Sadie Carter for volunteering to help with the assessments.
Sybil Thornton was blessed over the holidays with a visit from her son, Mike, of Des Moines and her grandson, Keith, and his fiancée, Heather, of Beaufort, South Carolina.
Mary Ann Hennigan had a busy week over the holidays. Thomas Hennigan, son of Joe Hennigan of Greensboro, North Carolina played in and won the ?The Dollar General? bowl football game in Mobil, Alabama, for the Appalachian State football team. That evening Mary Ann?s daughter, Ann and family of Greensboro, North Carolina, came for the holidays along with son, Denny Hennigan and family of Eldridge and son, Matt Hennigan and family of Washington. She enjoyed a phone call at the end of December from grandson, Taylor and wife Hailey Hennigan who called to announce the arrival of Mary Ann?s No. 21 great-grandchild on Dec. 29.
