The Mid-Prairie High School boys golf team opened its season Monday.

The Golden Hawks traveled to West Branch and played at Cedar?s Edge Golf course in punishing weather. Mid-Prairie lost by 18 strokes, 173-191.

?Despite the cold windy conditions, sophomore Noah Schlabaugh played well and tied for medalist shooting a 41,? Mid-Prairie coach Kelby Bender said.

Ryan Slaubaugh shot 47 for Mid-Prairie. Teammate Michael Callahan posted a 49 and Collin Gingerich shot a 54 for a team score of 191.

?We came up short against a good team,? Bender said.
