Geraldine Lorraine (Jerry) Bell, 101, of Boone, Iowa died at Westhaven Community.
Celebration of life services will be held at Westhaven Community Chapel, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:30-11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeff McDowell officiating. Interment will take place at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. Memorials in Jerry's memory are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, Westhaven Community, or Boone Humane Society.
Geraldine was born March 28, 1916 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Hazel (Kelly) Zahn. She was married to H. Morris Bell on June 14, 1935 in Boone. Mrs. Bell graduated from Boone High School in 1934. After graduation she worked for Drs. Deering and Longworth. After she had family she was a stay at home mom but did bookkeeping for her husband's family owned business.
She enjoyed many bridge clubs she belonged to and was the last member of Club 39. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and helping her daughter Cathy with garage sales. She loved walking especially with her beloved dog Pepi. She loved family gatherings and being around the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an only child so she always wanted to be around people. Mrs. Bell was a 70-year member of the First United Methodist Church. She lived her entire life in Boone.
She is survived by one daughter, Cathy (Dave) Ross of Washington, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Cindy Bell Pearce of Grinnell, Iowa; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morry in 1990; son, Michael in 2014; daughter, Carolyn Bell in 2016; grandson, Jon Ryan Ross; and great-granddaughter, Alivia Ross.
