Driver cited after hitting pedestrian

KALONA ? A Kalona man was cited after leaving the scene of an accident where he allegedly struck a pedestrian.

Robert Clemence Levers, of Kalona, was cited Thursday, July 5, after leaving the scene of an accident where a vehicle he was driving allegedly struck a pedestrian.

According to the Washington County call log, at about 10:53 a.m. at 419 B Ave., a vehicle reportedly hit a subject who was walking across the street. The vehicle then left the scene. At the time there was no description of the vehicle. The pedestrian appeared fine and no injuries were reported, however, emergency medical personnel were requested to check out the pedestrian and Kalona QRS responded. Washington County Ambuloance was disregarded. The pedestrian went to the hospital by private vehicle.

Levers was located at the post office. He was cited for driving under suspension and leaving the scene of an accident.
