Dorothy Irene Diller, 91, of Columbus Junction, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Stacy Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Columbus Junction, where friends may greet the family from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Columbus City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Columbus Junction Fire Department, Columbus City Methodist Church, or the Senior Center. Dorothy was born June 28, 1926 in Fredonia, Iowa, the daughter of Willis E. and Delcie L. (Warnstaff) Diller. She was employed at Sheller Globe Co. for 25 years, where she made many lasting friendships.
Dorothy was a member of Columbus City Methodist Church, where she also sang in the choir and served as janitor. For many years, she was a devoted volunteer at the Senior Center where she liked to play cards after meals. In 1998, Dorothy received a Governor's Award for her volunteering. Dorothy was a member of Royal Neighbors, UMW, CCIC, MAF, and Rebekkas. She enjoyed cross stitch, embroidery, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. Dorothy was a warm and caring person, and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Phil) Farrier of Ainsworth; her granddaughter, Mandy Farrier of Brighton; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family; and her grand-dog, Lacey.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and four brothers.
