The White Cloud Club met Tuesday, May 1, 2018 for an 11:30 a.m. luncheon at Ainsworth Four Corners with eight members in attendance.

Jolene Colthurst opened the meeting with a reading called ?Earth.?

Members answered roll call with a variety of topics.

The secretary and treasurer?s reports were given by Pat Miller. Old and new business was discussed.

Everyone enjoyed a plant exchange.

Attending were Jolene Cothurst, Frieda Finke, Joyce Huff, Betty Lintz, Pat Miller, Pauline Richardson, Virginia Sands and Shannon Sells.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, June 5, and the group will meet for an 8:30 a.m. breakfast at the new Frontier Restaurant in Wayland.

The 2018 WACO graduates of the Crawfordsville Community were honored following church services at 9:50 a.m. at the United Church of Crawfordsville on Sunday, May 6. Crawfordsville area graduates are Beau Beckler, Joey Collier, Alexandria Gerot, Emily Kerns, Aubrey McClanahan and Maggie Smith.

Memorial Day speaker will be Col. Von Miller on Monday, May 28, at the Crawfordsville Cemetery. He is the brother of Gene Miller and is from Runnels. In case of rain the service will be held at the Schantz- Mitchell Legion Hall. Coffee and doughnuts will be served at the Legion Hall following the service.

The United Church of Crawfordsville is part of a group of churches in the area that are helping sponsor and that are planning a mission trip to Des Moines on June 4, 5, and 6. Those going will be spending time helping a local food pantry, shelters, homeless camps and a local church. April 29 a taco/potato bar was held at the United Church of Crawfordsville to raise money for this mission project. the next money-making event will be Saturday, May 19, at the Riverside Casino and will feature the Eric Burdon and the Animals inside show. The Ainsworth Community Church has invited the United Church of Crawfordsville to join them for ?Worship in the Park? on Sunday, June 17. Worship will begin at 10:30 a.m. Look for more information closer to the time.
