The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, Feb. 12, at 6:30 p.m. the Crawfordsville Community Room with sixteen members present.

Lion President Lance Miller called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Larry Love gave the invocation.

After a meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened.

The minutes of the Jan. 22 meeting were approved as read. The treasurer reported no activity in either account. Thank-you notes were read from a recipient of a gift at the Christmas drawing, as well as one from a student who had recieved a monetary donation for Student Volunteers in Optometric Service in Humanity. A request for funds was read from the Iowa Lions Intenational Youth Exchange Camp and the club decided to fund this.

New Business: The Crawfordsville Community Club has requested that the Lions sponsor the Annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 31. It was moved, seconded and approved to do so. After discussion about the service that Camp Courageous renders to those who are disabled, it was approved to make a donation to the camp. It was noted that it is time to activate the nominating committee for next year?s officers. The nominating committee consists of the current president and the two most recent past presidents, thus Lance, Lion Rose and Lion Stogdill will take care of this. The slate of officers needs to presented at the first March meeting and voted on at the second March meeting so that the slate is in place by the first meeting in April to be reported to LCI.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned and Tail Twister Fletcher collected fines from those without pins and then conducted a round of trivia.

The Crawfordsville Community Club has announced that it will sponsor, along with the Crawfordsville Lions Club, an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 31, at 9:30 a.m., at the Crawfordsville Ball Field. It will immediately follow the Fire Department Pancake Breakfast. This will also feature a special appearance by the Easter Bunny.
