The regular meeting of Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society was held Monday, Sept. 25, at the Olds United Church of Christ. President Sharon Beattie called the meeting to order and opened the meeting with the group singing the Sword of Gold.
Fifteen members answered roll call telling the household chore they disliked the most.
Mindy Fitzgibbon gave the meditation with a reading ?Ten Things to Think About.?
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The treasurer?s report was given by Missy Fear and it will be filed for audit.
Committee Reports: Camp Girls- Nancy reported she had purchased yarn for anyone who would like to knit scarves for the girls for Christmas gifts. Friends of Conservation funding-Sharon and Missy will see what is needed to apply for funds from the group to be used for campers fees. Discussion was held regarding how may girls to send to camp in 2018. A motion was made and seconded to send three girls. Motion carried.
Program for the next meeting-Pat Miller and Marlys Fear will be hostesses and Pat will have meditations.
Old Business: Dues: Annual dues are due at this time.
Annual Budget- Missy presented the budget for 2017-18. A motion was made and seconded to accept the budget. The motion carried. A copy will be on file.
Audit- Lisa and Robin McClanahan need to audit the books and report back at the next meeting. Pat King agreed to be an alternate auditor.
ByLaws Update- Mary Benson has the bylaws on her computer. Sharon, Marlys, Glenda and Jen Slagel have agreed to be on the bylaw committee to review and make changes as needed by February.
New Business: Nominating Committee: Nominations were received from the floor for the following officers: President- Barb Shelman; Vice President- Lisa Kempf: Recording Secretary- Jen Slagel: Treasurer- Missy Fear; Corresponding Secretary- Mindy Fitzgibbon and Historian- Karolyn Crawford.
President Beattie thanked Jen and Mindy for refreshments. As there was no further business, the meeting adjourned.
The next meeting will be Monday, Nov. 20, at the Olds United Church of Christ. Initiation ceremony and installation of officers will be held at that time.
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at Crawfordsville Community Room with eleven members present.
Lion President Lance Miller called the meeting to order and led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Secretary Nancy Love gave the invocation.
After a delicious meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened.
The minutes of the September 11 meeting were approved as read. There was no treasurer?s report.
Business: It was noted that the Columbus Junction Lions Club is having a sausage gravy and biscuit breakfast, Saturday, Oct. 14. Lion Mike Massey was presented with the Progressive Warren Coleman award for excellence in Lionism. The Crawfordsville Community Club has asked for sponsorship of their Halloween activities. The motion carried. Lions Billie Jo Rose and Luetta Greene brought up ideas for the Christmas party. They will come back to the club with some suggestions at the next meeting.
Lion Secretary/Iowa Lions Foundation Trustee Nancy Love presented a program on the Iowa Lions Foundation and the entities that they fund.
