The regular meeting of Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society was held Monday, May 21, at the Olds United Church of Christ.
President Barb Shelman called the meeting to order and opened with having the group sing, ?The sword of gold?. After, 13 members answered roll call with their favorite ice cream flavor.
Minutes of the previous month?s meeting were not available so they were to be read and approved at the next meeting. President Shelman reviewed a couple of articles from the May T.T.T. Tidings and the email from T.T.T. regarding best choice for financial management.
The treasurer?s report was given by Missy Fear, and will be filed for audit.
Camp: Three camp girls and family members were in attendance prior to the meeting and decorated a hat to take to camp, opened gifts and enjoyed refreshments.
Barb and Nancy will take the girls to meet the bus and Marlys and Glenda will pick them up and take them home.
Charity: No activity. Marlys needs addresses of new camp girls.
Camp girls? gifts: Nothing sent in May or June and there were no graduates this year.
Ways and means-: A fundraiser will be held on Monday, July 9, at the Pizza Ranch in Mt. Pleasant. There will be a sign up sheet at next month?s meeting.
Flowers and a card had been sent to Betty Carlson in recognition of her 50 year membership. Her anniversary date was May 28.
Bills for payment:
Nancy submitted bills for payment for camp supplies. Marlys made a motion to pay these and Pat seconded.
Program for next meeting: Karolyn and Missy will be hostesses for the June meeting which will be held at Olds United Church of Christ.
Camp girls will give their reports and Founders Day Celebration will be observed and roll call will be a place of interest one has seen.
President Shelman thanked Betty and Louise for refreshments.
As there was no further business, the meeting adjourned with the closing creed. The next meeting will be Monday, June 25, at Olds United Church of Christ.
Billie Jo Rose got together with long time friends, Del and Sandy Gade of Clarence, at the 92 Roadhouse in Columbus Junction, Friday evening.
Following Memorial Day services on Monday, May 28, the Gene Miller family hosted a dinner at the United Church of Crawfordsville.
Those attending were Von and Chris Miller, Jacob and Jillian of Runnells, Ned and Diane Miller of Huxley, Jim and Beth Clayton of Bondurant, Ted and Sandy Miller of Williamsburg and the hosts, Gene and Pat Miller, Lance and Lindsey.
Col. Von Miller was the speaker at the Crawfordsville Cemetery on Memorial Day.
