County demolishes house

Washington County began the tear-down of the former Goff house at 302 West Main Street in Washington. The property lies just west of the courthouse in Washington. At a supervisors meeting in May, Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer said the county had been  approached by the family, who offered to sell it to the county in the amount of $50,000. The board has said the County Courhouse needs more parking and the lot could provide additional space for those visiting the courthouse.
