The National Weather Service out of the Quad Cities is predicting a cold weekend and possible snow in the Washington County Area.
According to a hazardous weather outlook, the service reports hazardous weather is expected for potions of north central Illinois, northwest Illinois, west central Illinois, east central Iowa, northeast Iowa, southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri. The report said bitter cold wind chills in excess of minus 10 were expected north of Interstate 80 this morning.
Scattered snow showers with minor accumulations of half an inch or less are possible late this afternoon and early this evening, mainly along and north of Interstate 80.
The service predicts temporary reduced visibilities and isolated slick spots.
On Saturday and Sunday, most snow flurries are predicted with a possible inch or two accumulation.
Additional snow is possible Monday into Tuesday.
