Tuesday Coffee Club enjoyed a breakfast meeting at HyVee on May 1. Charlotte Magdefrau was hostess to the eight members attending.
The summer agenda booklets were distributed by Sharon Niffenegger. A big thank you is extended to Judy Donaldson for making them.
May 1 reminds Niffenegger of the May baskets members made for our grandparents many years ago. Wonder if that tradition still exists? May is noted for its clear mornings and claims fame for its stormy afternoons. On an average May month we have occurrences of storms and hail in Iowa. On a plus note, we gain 59 minutes of daylight in May. An old proverb says ?Spring has come when you can put your foot on three daisies.? They need some May rain to bring forth those daisies. Also the seasonal mushrooms like to show their beauty if we are fortunate enough to go and find them. Though now retired several of the members still think of May as being a busy planting season when raising our families on the farm. They enjoyed visiting and getting Tuesday Coffee Club together.
The next meeting will be held on May 15, at The Pizza Ranch at 11:30 a.m., with Maxine Klopfenstein as hostess.
