The Wayland Lions Club held their October meeting at the Wayland Community Center. There were 14 members present.
President Chuck Brown called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Larry Graber gave the Invocation.
Then the meeting broke for a delicious meal catered by Alice Hochstetler.
At the resumption of the meeting, Lion Marianne Pattyson read the minutes of last meeting and Terry Kaufman gave the treasurer?s report.
Old Business: Ron Marsh, Larry Meyer, Stan Meyer and Brad Roth constructed a ramp at Vernon Leichty?s home for his use to facilitate his safe travel outside his home. Lion Vernon Leichty supplied the materials for the volunteer Wayland Lions to complete the project.
Several projects were discussed to replace the Annual Fruit Sale, due to the closing of the supplier of the fruit for the past 25 years.
New Business: Wayland Lions Club was chartered on April 10, 1948, making April 10, 2018, its 60th Anniversary of serving its communities. An Anniversary Membership Drive is being planned for April or May of next year.
President Chuck Brown will put together a committee to organize the event.
Wayland Lions Club will have their Christmas Celebration Party on Dec. 19, at the Wayland Community Center.
The official meeting ended at 7:30 p.m.
