Thelma Mahan, of the Parkview Nursing Home in Wayland, observed her 95th birthday on April 30. The family treated her to a meal at the Riverside Casino on April 29. On April 30, she was visited by former neighbors and friends Winifred Fritz, of Brighton, Arlene Fritz, of Brighton, and Nancy Anderson, of Wayland.


Providing the evening meal of April 29 at the home of Winifred Fritz were her daughter, Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth, of Fairfield.


Pat Remington, with friend Nita, of Rubio, spent April 28-29 in Waukee. They were overnight guests of Pat?s daughter Brandy and Chris Poli. Brandy, Pat and Nita enjoyed the casino, touring the historical building and dining out. Pat and Nita also did some shopping before returning home. They met Pat?s grandson Cody and Mackenzie, of Oskaloosa, for the evening meal of April 29. They enjoyed dining at Riverside II in Oskaloosa.


Ginny Brinton visited her brother, Fritz and Nancy Gowey, in Milan, Illinois. She left April 26 and returned on April 30. They celebrated Fritz?s birthday, which was April 29.


Mike Schooley and family, of Columbia, Missouri, and the Marty Schooley family, of Vernon Hills, Illinois, were visitors of their mother, Shirley Schooley, the weekend of April 27. They attended the wedding of Lindsay Schooley and Gideon Cox in Tiffin on April 28.


Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met on May 1 at the home of Barb Mottet. Her co-hostess was Ginny Brinton. Twelve members were present. President Marcella Loeffler presided over the meeting. Barb Mottet gave the program. She demonstrated how to make bird baths and bird feeders out of glassware. Their next meeting will be held May 15 at the home of Sarah Robison.
