Bertha Zilpha Hesser Hill, age 84, of Coppock, Iowa, died Thursday evening, February 22, 2018, at her son's home in Olds.
She was born on November 4, 1933 in Coppock to Glenn C. and Lillian Imhoff Hesser. Bertha graduated from Wayland High School in 1952 and married Dennis Allen Hill on August 10, 1953 at the Cottonwood Church.
She lived in Winfield for 38 years and worked at the Calendar factory, cooked at the Welcome Inn, worked at the Honts Grocery and at Fansteel Washington Manufacturing. Bertha moved back to Coppock after Dennis died on July 4, 1986 and retired from Fansteel after 22 years in 1995.
Her family includes four children, Gene Allen Hill of Winfield, Jerry Dean Hill of Red Oak, Jackie (Greg) Morrow of Wayland, and Jason (Tracy) Hill of Olds; eight granddaughters and one grandson, Kalyn Pytel, Kole Hudson, Alanna Knerr, Allison Pappas, and Alexa, Jeri Jo, Jenna, Rebecca, and Saren Hill; five great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons; her sister, Betty Ricks of Coppock; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Hesser and Alice Hesser.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis; two infant sisters, Kathyrn and Grace Ann; four brothers, Richard, Gerald 'Slim', Kenneth 'Mose', and James 'Jim'; and one great-granddaughter.
There will be private services and burial at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. The Honts Funeral Home in Winfield is providing the care and arrangements
