Archers place first at Cedar Rapids Prairie

CEDAR RAPIDS ? Washington High School placed first Saturday, Feb. 3, with a team score of 3377. The other team scores were: Prairie Point 3271, CPU 3179, North Scott 3156, and Jesup 3076.

Alexis Ide led the High School Girls? Division with a 288 second place finish. Megan Lillie placed third with a 285, Samantha Mellinger placed fifth with a 283, Anna Miller placed sixth with a 283, and Maggie Morgan placed seventh with a 281.

In the high school boys? division, Braeden Duwa placed third with a 285, Griffin Wood placed fourth with a 283, Mitchell Driscoll placed sixth with a 280, Cooper Reed placed seventh with a 279 and Cody Mellinger placed 10th with a 278.

The Washington Middle School team also placed first with a team score of 3165.

The other team scores were: Jesup 3130, CPU 3129, Cedar Rapids Prairie Point 3084 and South Tama 2931.

Allison Rees led the middle school girls? division with a fifth place score of 273.

Hayden Janecek placed 13th with a 263 and Kenna Rathmell placed 12th with a 263.

In the boys? middle school division, Duston Sorrells placed third with a 272, Lane Frana placed fourth with a 272, Curtis Stender placed sixth with a 270 and Brian Fritz placed 10th with a 264.

Lincoln Elementary shot their highest team score of the season with a 2716 and placed 2nd behind South Tama?s score of 2785.

In the elementary girls? division, Jade Sheetz placed fifth with a 244, Sammy Joo Helfrich placed seventh with a 238, and Madison Conway placed 12th with a 227.

Cashden Pepper led the elementary boys? division with his 244, first place finish.

Kaden Read placed third with a 241, Blake Sheetz placed fourth with a 222, Blaine Hodson placed fifth with a 221, Nic Zabel placed sixth with a 220, Quintyn Garibay placed seventh with a 219 and Carson Ryan placed eighth with a 215.

As of January 29th state rankings, the high school is ranked fifth, the middle school second, and the elementary school is ranked 11th.
