Beginning Monday, May 7, absentee ballots will be available for the June 5, Washington County primary election. Voters who want to vote by absentee ballot may do so in person at the Washington County Auditor?s office beginning Monday, May 7, through Monday, June 4. Auditor?s office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, May 25; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, June 1; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 2; and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, June 4.
Alternatively, a ballot can be mailed to a voter if they fill out and submit a request form. The ballot request form may be obtained from the Washington County Auditor?s Office or the following websites: co.washington.ia.us or sos.iowa.gov. Requestors must include an ID number and must indicate their choice of Republican, Democratic or Libertarian ballot. Requests for absentee ballots may be delivered or mailed to the Washington County Auditor, 222 West Main Street, Box 889, Washington, IA 52353, and must be received in the Auditor?s office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 25.
