A classic Washington Summer

In addition to the farmers market in Central Park on Thursday, Washington?s Annual Summer Classic kicked off with a salute to area farmers with an AG Day parade of new and antique tractors. Also scheduled was a Kiddie Tractor Pull and antique Tractor Parade from the Fairgrounds to retirement communities that ended downtown around park. Little Hands on the Farm exhibited a baby lamb and other pettable livestock for children. There was a seed swap and a tree sapling give-away. Those attending had a choice of music from Mike Whittaker, featuring singer/songwriter Bree Nelson and Katie Schneider, and the famous Washington Municipal Band in the bandshell. Summer Classic activities continue through the weekend. The Journal has published a complete list of events in this edition.
