Washington County 4-H was excited to participate in the 4th annual Iowa State 4-H Experience Agronomy Event on April 7. 4-H?ers from across the state were invited to this event hosted by Iowa State Agronomy Club. They learned about the three pillars of sustainability: economic, social, and environment while learning about Iowa Learning Farms, intergrated pest management and international agriculture. They also took part in sessions with technology in agriculture and a food packaging event to support local food needs.
Approximately 40 students participated from across the state. Washington County send nine 4-Hers including: Jackson Hesseltine, Garrett Conway, Curtis Stender, Jacey Berg, Blake Sheetz, Aiden McGuire, Hunter Sieren, Jade Sheetz, and Tess Berdo. Their group leaders were uniquely Washington County 4-H alum Adam Guy and Miranda Romoser, both students at Iowa State and members of the ISU Agronomy Club.
