Payton Hart, of Riverside, is the daughter of Colleen and Larry Hart.
She attends Iowa Mennonite School and is a member of Kalona Klassics.
Her projects include: Home Improvement, clothing/textiles and food and nutrition.
Her 4-H activities include being club secretary, planting flower pot for fair each year, club service projects and being a member of the 2017 Fair Queen Court.
Payton?s special 4-H memory was being the 2017 Washington County Fair Queen First Runner-Up.
?Through 4-H I learned how to communicate with my peers as well as persons older than myself professionally at a young age,? Payton said. ?Through club service projects I learned how to communicate effectively with peers in order to accomplish the project at hand. By talking to the judges I became comfortable talking to and explaining my ideas/projects to adult strangers. The ability to communicate effectively is the greatest lesson I have learned through 4-H.?
Her other activities include Silver Cord, National Honor Society, Compassion Club and basketball.
Payton?s future plans are to attend the University of Northern Iowa this fall to study anthropology and Spanish with an Army ROTC scholarship.
